It is the duty and responsibility of parents and/or guardians to keep track of the progress of their son or daughter in school. Parents and/or guardians who are signatories to the pupils’/students’ undertakings are encouraged to confer with school authorities on their own initiative or whenever they are called for a conference. This is intended to strengthen the harmonious working relationship between the school and the home for the welfare of the pupils/students.
St. Mary’s College of Catbalogan asserts the exercise of its special parental authority vested in the school, its administrators, and teachers while pupils/students are under its supervision, instruction, or custody.
The enrolment of pupils/students in St. Mary’s College of Catbalogan is understood as an expressed willingness on their part, and consequently on the part of their parents and/or guardians, to abide by all the rules and regulations of the school. Thus, pupils/students and their parents are expected to observe these faithfully.
As a Catholic school, with Christian Living as the core of the curriculum, St. Mary’s College of Catbalogan expects pupils/students to attend and participate actively in liturgical and spiritual exercises, including the daily praying of the Holy Rosary as scheduled throughout the school year.
Parents or guardians may consult or confer with teachers and administrators by informing the Principal, who will arrange the conference at an appropriate time.
The rules and regulations stated in this Handbook are intended to enhance the lives of pupils/students as they relate and interact with members of the school community.
