The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) program of St. Mary’s College of Catbalogan prepares students for careers in food production, food and beverage service, lodging operations, events management, and other emerging sectors of the hospitality industry. Based on CHED standards, the program develops the competencies needed to perform operational tasks and management functions in service-oriented organizations while building strong foundations in hospitality operations, customer service, business management, communication, and professional responsibility. Guided by the Transformative RVM Ignacian Pedagogy, the program promotes active, collaborative, and reflective learning that connects classroom instruction with real-life hospitality practice, strengthens ethical awareness and service orientation, and forms graduates who can respond competently to the needs of guests, organizations, and communities in local and global settings.
The Hospitality Management Department serves as the academic home organization for students under the BSHM program. It supports student growth through activities that strengthen professional preparation, collaboration, leadership, and service in the field of hospitality management. Through departmental programs, seminars, school events, and student participation in practical and community-oriented activities, the organization helps students develop confidence, responsibility, and industry awareness.
